Depart from Hilo and fly directly to the VOLCANO lava fields, Pu'u oo vent, black sand beaches, eastern rift zone of Kilauea Volcano and the Nanawale Rainforest. The return route of this air tour also includes a flight to some of Hawaii’s exotic waterfalls before landing back at Hilo International Airport. This INTENSE tour of the east side of the Big Island takes 45-50 minutes.

Equipment
We operate fixed wing aircrafts including an eight-passenger Airvan and four-passenger Cessnas. These efficient, comfortable and safe planes carry sufficient fuel to allow for non-stop circle island tours. These tour planes also allow everyone a personal window seat - no extra charge.
Guide Pilots
Your tour guide should be a big consideration when choosing any kind of tour. He will be your only ambassador to safe and engaged viewing of the island. Our friendly guide pilots are all experienced airmen and have the aeronautical, geographical, historical & cultural knowledge to be the best guide pilots in the business. Iolani Air provides you a two way headset so you can talk with the guide pilot. As you soar over points of interest feel free to ask lots of questions. Don’t be shy. And if you need to see something again, ask your guide. If conditions allow your pilot can always circle back for another look!
Safety
Safety should be a priority for anyone boarding an aircraft. Our air tours exceed FAA safety minimums. Our tour pilots have three times the amount of flight time and our planes are inspected twice as often as required by the FAA. Iolani Air is the only air tour company to have on site a FAA approved Level III flight simulator assuring that our pilots stay extra sharp and ready for flying.
