This is a driving tour through the back roads of Puna, the eastern corner of the Big Island and home to Lava Trees, volcanic
hot ponds, old lava tubes and other hidden treasures of the rainforest.
Frequent stops are made through entire tour for photo taking and exploring.
This tour also includes:
*A drive through the Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut orchard and stop at he Visitor’s Center to sample a variety of Macadamia Nut treats.
*A guided walk through the Nanawale Rainforest to view the lava trees and fissures hidden in the jungle.
*A Scenic Drive along the famous coastal “Red-Road” of Kalapana, and a windy country road drive through a large Mango grove.
*A stop at the ocean sea cliffs of McKenzie Park.
* Dip your toes in a hot pond heated by the volcano.
*An easy hike over an old lava flow from 1984 to a small black sand beach.
