FaQs
1. Will there be a lot of hiking? Most of the trails are short walks.2. How cold is it at the Volcano National Park? Kilauea's summit (4000' elevation) varies daily. Average temperature is between 50 - 60 degrees F.
3. Is Kilauea Volcano active? Yes, Kilauea Volcano is in fact the most active volcano on earth and has been erupting for 28 year non-stop.
4. Will we see lava? We are always on our toes when it comes to the lava flow because it is a natural event and constantly changing. On the twilight tour the lava is located within a pit of the Haleumaumau crater. We have had very bright glows of the lava and have had it spatter out a few times.
5. What kind of wild life will we see? Of the 23 surviving endemic Hawaiian songbird species, those living within Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park include six Hawaiian honeycreepers; ‘apapane, ‘amakihi, ‘i`iwi, and three federally listed as endangered; ‘akepa, ‘akiapola‘au, and the Hawai'i creeper. There are also a native thrush (‘oma`o) and a native monarch (‘elepaio). Another three species of endemic Hawaiian birds found within the Park are also endangered; the nene, or Hawaiian goose, Hawaiian petrel, and ‘io or Hawaiian hawk.

tour through the amazing Hawaii Volcanoes National Park for
sightseeing, exploring and nighttime viewing into the steamy,

Our Volcano Park is the only National Park that has two active
volcanoes. On this tour you will discover the most active, Kilauea,
which has been erupting continuously since the early 1980’s. Inside
the park your tour guide will show you to the Visitor’s Center,
Jagger Museum, the Thurston Lava Tube (which includes a 10-minute
easy hike through the lava tube!), active steam vents, sulfur banks,
scenic lookouts and finally your tour vehicle will stop at the
Halemau’mau Crater lookout where you will enjoy an amazing view
inside the crater after sunset. The molten lava just below the
crater’s surface creates a dramatic glow and a unique ambiance, a
perfect setting as you enjoy a picnic style dinner provided by your
tour guide
This tour also includes a stop at the famous Rainbow Falls in Hilo
and Macadamia nut farm. Snacks and beverages are also provided
throughout the tour.
