Waipio Valley is a must see for a Big Island Visit and is the second most visited site on the island, second only to the volcano. But not every one makes it down into this majestic valley since anything but 4x4 vehicles are prohibited.

The drive down into the valley is an expedition in itself! The main road down is now paved and is only about 3/4 of a mile long, but the average 25% grade (said to be around 45% grade in some spots) makes it one of the steepest roads in the U.S.!

While in Waipio Valley enjoy the waterfalls, Taro patches, lush tropical foliage, wild horses and the locals that live there as your wagon is pulled along by mules on this charming, fully narrated tour.
